Example of a Great Plains Dashboard
Executive dashboarding with the Great Plains package from Microsoft. Thanks goes to the Dashboard Spy who sent me these dashboard screenshots. I was told that third-party software from softwaresolutions-biz.com was used to generate these dashboards from sales, inventory and financial data embedded in a Great Plains system. I’m assuming these dashboards are demos from the company.

The drill down from the executive dashboard leads the user to the table view of the data, in this example the sales and profit analysis by customer and item.

It’s instructive to examine in detail the actual metrics and KPIs used in the dashboard. They are categorized into the following functional areas. The categories include: Sales Data (quotes, orders and sales), Expense Data (cost of goods sold, operating expenses), Financial Data (Net Profit, balance sheet, profit and loss, ratio analysis), Inventory Data (on hand quantities, below reorder points, items on back order, inventory turnover,) and Purchasing Data (Purchase orders, Purchase History, Vendor List)
